Dixon, the largest electronics retailer in the UK claims that the Chromebook, computers with Chrome OS will contribute approximately 10 percent of sales next year.The predictions made by Mark Slater, camputing category director at Dixons Retail, which will give a boost to Google's ambitions in Chrome innovative operating system.
Google's operating system is launched in May, a web-based Google browser Chrome. But do not get a major concern because of the lack of a laptop that attract consumers.
As quoted by the Telegraph, Wednesday (23/11/2011), Slater said, "We see computing evolve in the next year with the emergence of Chrome as an operating system and ease of storage cloud makes it a credible alternative in the world with Microsoft and Apple.
Dixon Google has launched the world's first store, which is a branch company PC World. "I believe Chrome could reach approximately 10 percent of the computing business next year, with the right hardware partners and encourage greater consumer," said Slater.
Retail sources also said, Chromebook has sold very well at the retailer and the expected new devices at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January. Although the launch of a new laptop will be dominated by a thin design ultrabook as rival MacBook Air.
