JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Samsung Electronics invites application developers (developers) in Indonesia to create applications with local content across devices of his gadgets. The reason, Samsung is currently experiencing growth in Indonesia but the content is in it is still dominated from outside Indonesia.

Head of Business Development Business HHP Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Alven Desnecmen reveal still open opportunities for local developers to create applications on Samsung's App Store.

"We invite local developers to create applications more fit local needs. Currently, we have a product lineup ranging from feature phones, smart phones until the tablets either with or Bada operating system Android," said Alven after the Samsung event Beyond: New Opportunities in Jakarta , Tuesday (22/11/2011).

Local application in question is the application that really fit with the needs of today's society. For example, banking, education, manufacturing, healthcare applications, insurance, and others.

Since its launch two years ago, globally Samsung App Store already has about 50,000 applications. Unfortunately, the developers of the new Samsung Apps from Indonesia there are about 50 developers. "The chances are still very large," he added.

Until now, Samsung had a market share both in Indonesia for smart phones. Samsung mobile phone sales overall in Indonesia reached 5.675 million units in January 2011 and increased to 31.361 million units in September 2011.

In terms of market share by region, Samsung is able to take the market in Jakarta 50.5 percent, 62.2 percent in Surabaya, Bandung and 80.4 percent at 82.4 percent in Makassar.

"Our market is pretty clear and lead the market in some cities. The hope developers are interested in partnering with Samsung," he explained.

To date, more than 90 percent of the applications on Samsung's App Store is a free application. But if the application does not allow the public interest, then the application could be paid.

Commitment, Samsung will conduct cross-subsidy to developers. Operational costs will be borne by Samsung and sold there for the moment at Samsung App Store.

"But we will be looking for a commitment that fits between the developer and us," he concluded.
