Facebook Open Jobs Thousands of New Employees

Facebook has said it plans to hire thousands of employees over the next year and added a team of engineers for their office in New York.

"We will employ many high-quality engineers as we can here in New York," said Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, as reported by the Times of India, Sunday (04/12/2011).

He said Facebook will also add a new engineer at the headquarters of Palo Alto, California, and in Seattle, and New York.

Facebook, which has more than 800 million members and is expected to go public next year, currently employs approximately 3,000 people

Sandberg says Facebook has plans to dramatically expand the workforce as a whole. "We will be adding thousands of employees in the next year," he said.

Facebook currently has approximately 100 employees at the New York office. Most of them worked in the marketing department.
