Translucent Windows Phone application stores 40 Thousand Apps

Microsoft's mobile application store, Windows Phone Marketplace currently has more than 40,000 applications. These applications are from about 10,000 development company (publisher) applications and games.

Achieving this, about 33 percent of its accomplished in the last 90 days. This means there is a significant addition of applications, there are about 13,000 apps and new games within three months.

In Windows Phone Marketplace is dominated by apps in various categories as much as 85 percent and the game as much as 15 percent. Most (68 percent) the application is available free of charge, 23 percent paid, and there are 9 per cent application trial (try & buy).

As quoted from CNet, one observer said the number of applications on Windows Phone Windows Phone Marketplace can reach more than 50,000 apps in late January 2012. This prediction would be a good news for smartphone users Windows Phone.

Although still relatively small when compared to its competitors app store, this achievement is an achievement for a mobile operating system that was "receding". Moreover, the new Windows Phone Marketplace is actually present in October 2010.

For info, Apple's App Store which was introduced in 2008, until last October, has had more than 500,000 apps, an increase of 150,000 apps in just four months. Meanwhile, the Android app store (Android Market), which was first released in 2008 also, now has more than 300,000 applications.
